Still Waters Run Deep

Watercolor on paper, brass wire, foam, acrylic paint, sandstone with iron deposits, petrified wood, limestone, and glass jars.

Still Waters Run Deep is a work in progress. The above is a selection of creatures that dwell in the waters of the western region of the United States. The creatures are housed in glass jars previously used for commercial food storage. Natural elements from various dried river beds and lakes in the west fill the bottoms of each jar. When completed, these creatures will tell a story of how their species are making adaptations to accommodate the ever changing world in which they live.
